178699. for a while there was a guy named alex who would play this game using a binary search. (he may have had a slightly different dictionary.) he always got it in 16 or 17 guesses, but i never really saw the point.
Interesting, though 17 should be about the worst case scenario. I just like using a binary framework, always trying to split the range I have left roughly in half.
Just curious, how many words are in your dictionary? I want to know if I can beat a binary search :)
