Welcome to the Guess My Word blog. This is a place to discuss the words of the day chosen by Joon and Mike. This paragraph is here mostly as spoiler space. Here are today's words:
Wow! Feels like somebody's messing with my head. I'm just back from vacation, still feeling jet-lagged and groggy, and Joon's word is my standard first alphabet splitter! Ordinarily I would think that any zero seconds, one-word correct guess is evidence of cheating, but anyone who has looked at my play for the last year will see that that is always my first guess.
I love this game -- thanks, Joon, for providing this service for us word-nerds. And Mike, too, for your contributions. I just discovered it a few months ago, and was wondering if there were a way to access the archives. The first page suggests that there is, but even my geeky SO can't see a way to do it.

ReplyDeleteThanks a bunch.
You play the archives by manipulating the query string of the URL. Specifically, the values for word chooser (mike or joon) and date of the game.
DeleteSo yesterday's game for mike's word is: http://www.people.fas.harvard.edu/~pahk/dictionary/guess.cgi?by=mike&date=140730
And joon's word from the day before would be: http://www.people.fas.harvard.edu/~pahk/dictionary/guess.cgi?by=joon&date=140729
