I would have gotten Mike's word a lot faster if I hadn't spent so much time trying to think of a word between "italics" and "itchy" besides "itch," which I thought couldn't possibly be the word. Once again, I tried to make this harder than it is...
I sat with philosophe and philatelist and philanderer and never came up with 'philanthropy,' even though we just sent Heifer International a contribution. I guess I don't think of mere contributions as being in the same universe...
Two more or less lucky 10s today, which might be a PR. I have a vague memory of a 7/10 day about a month ago, but maybe that's just wishful thinking &/or false memory.
One of these days IPECAC is going to be the word and there will be a slew of 6s and 7s!
RicQ--you are so much more consistent than I am, that I keep wondering how you do it. If I am not In The Groove, I should just give up after 5 guesses, I sometimes think.
BTW, I think IPECAC has been a word in the past, which would mean it will not be repeated....however, it's still a great 'sorting' word.
Joon- is there a wordlist of Used Words that we can consult??
there's a list, but not that you can consult. i don't really consult it either (i.e. i don't remember most of what's on it). it does seem that about half the time i add a word to my queue, the program tells me it's already been used.
Elaine -- You are kind, but you obviously missed the day last week when I had a 21 FAIL and a 20 FAIL. As the phrase goes, "Sometimes the magic works, and sometimes it doesn't."
