actually, i think you do need a different strategy. if it's before inu but after inf, my next guess would be something in the vicinity of inn or ino, which is about halfway between the two. instead you worked your way inward one letter at a time from the endpoints.
And that's more my usual approach, but I've had such a bad time with hitting each side of the target without scoring that I thought I might do something else. Wrong!
