  1. Definitely not my day here at "Guess my Word." Joon's word is one I've never heard of, and then with Mike's word, I put in the spelling I've always seen (chickory), which was accepted, so it never occurred to me to try a different spelling. Apparently, the spelling I've always seen is incorrect, which makes me wonder why the game's dictionary didn't reject it. If it had rejected it, as it should have, maybe I'd have tried the correct spelling. Oh, well, as I said, not my day...

    1. I agree - not a good way to begin the week. Haven't heard of Joon's word, and, even though I've guessed "chicory" in previous games, for some unknown reason I put a "k" in it today. There's always tomorrow....

  3. OoooKAY.
Daughter is a research physicist, and SHE may know this word, but it's new to me. Happily, Joon can't use it again.
The dictionary allows this word, but won't take perfectly good words like 'rhabdomyosarcoma'. Not Fair.

  4. overall it does seem like most people don't know albedo--only 34 on leaderboard out of 102 plays. i don't know the overall averages (and don't keep track of enough past data to retroactively calculate it) but the success rate is usually much higher than 1/3. sorry. this is the kind of word i've known since high school, but it's definitely part of a specialized vocabulary. hopefully you enjoyed learning about it, because i think it's a pretty cool word.
