Between umami and unproductive are 3011 words. The answer was 19 before the upper end. I wound up with three words between my final pair.I wouldn't have guessed "unpreparedness", and along with the real answer I overlooked "unpressed."
There are 178,691 words in the TWL, used for the game. So a pure binary search --provided that you knew the distribution of words across the full alphabetical ordering-- should take slightly more than 17 guesses. But I'm trying to figure out how many words are really "in play," the kinds of inflections that Joon would not choose (but still could be useful for navigation).
Goodness. Kept making typos....and coming up with every temp- word except the right one!
