yeah, i gave up at homogeneous/homogeny. having said that, i do know that homogenous is commonly used to mean homogeneous, and i should have thought of it.
I've seen the word i consider incorrect so often that I guessed that first. Weird. and of course, never did get Joon's before hitting my 'too tired' limit. I do better first thing in the morning (theoretically) but today did not go according to schedule....
The OAD seems to suggest that mike's word is most often encountered in modern writing as a misspelling of "homogeneous."

DeleteIt's got an obsolete meaning of its own, at least. I also went with homogenized, which in my youth was a commonly touted attribute of bottled milk.
